Winter Months In The North East
just wondering how mobile techs in the north east deal with the winter months. does the cold affect business at all? does it affect the way repairs are performed? im from south jersey and am going to be starting part time and just wanted to know what to expect. any advice would be great. thanks
Re: Winter Months In The North East
If it's anything like where I spent the last 28 years, the high desert of Oregon, where it could get below zero in the winter, I don't envy you. The business is still there but people are less likely to be out and about and seem to put off repairs. The resin runs more slowly, so use a thinner one. Don't waste your time trying to heat the windshield. Just have more patience. There's a greater chance of finding moisture in the break. That's about it, unless somebody else can add something. By the way, the coldest day I did repairs was 2 degrees above zero, for my barber. I had my snowmobile suit on and it was still cold!
