need some advice on how to compete with the parking lot guys my retail has been going downhill theyre all over it seems like can u get permits in michigan for this kind of setup?if u can please let me know how feel like i need to do this also jus to stay in retail side of biz.thanks for any help or suggestions have been doing this for 20 yrs seems like parkin lot guys jus sprang up over nite my email is mforreel3@aol.com ty Phil

If you cannot beat them join them. Parking lots do work for retail, but do not forget there is a massive market for fleet and dealers also.

Just check with the city government in whatever area you're thinking of setting-up in. You can find them in the blue pages (if you get the wrong agency, they'll probably refer you to the right one).

I am in Lasalle MI. and in my area they make it hard to do it legally LOL. There are different types of permits, Special events permit, Hawkers, Peddlers and transient merchants. Hawkers,Peddler and/or transient merchant license requires a five hundred dollar surety bond posted at clerks office. I assume that bond may be in cash but not sure. Also costs $25.00 for license application, $10.00 for each day for licensing less than one week,$50.00 for a week, one month $100.00 etc. I put the holds on it due to not having the $500.00 and not being able to find anyone to bond me
