Partners In Business

Post by CHRIS »

Anyone Here Run Their Business With A Partner? I Have A Friend Very Interested In This Business As Well As Myself. He Has A Sales Backround With Great Contacts In A Huge Trucking Company And Other Large Fleets In Our Area (south Jersey). Any Thoughts On This Topic?

I personally hate partnership. My father had a business partnership with his best mate, they knew each other from their school days. After 8 years in the business they had to go their own ways, they hardly talk to each other now.

In partnership you need to be very tolerant but at the same time very vigilant and abrupt. You need to ask yourself whether you are willing to have your relationship strained due to business matters, because over the years you will have such situations.

I've personally been asked by many of my mates to go in partnership with them in this industry, but I just declined em, I like to be my own boss!!!

Having said all that, with the contacts your mate has, it might be an opportunity not to be missed.

Hope this helps.

I ran my own business (not glass) for 13 years and was successful. I then got out of that business and got into a partnership in July of 2005. By December 2005 I was buying my partner out, who had been my friend for about 5 years or so. He's now out and we don't talk much anymore.

A partnership is like being married. And we all know most marriages fail.
