What kit should I buy?

Post by mrgates »

Hello, I am new to this forum and I realize that most of the users have so sort of experience in the field. I have done a little research to find the right kit for me and want your advice. I have looked at delta kits, glass-mechnix, glass pro, agis, ect. but I dont know what to look for exactly. Please help!!

Thanks,

From what I see you have done your homework. I am judging by the order of your list. With exception of the glass pro, I would not do business with them as the folks there are somewhat difficult. :eusa_snoo Oh and you forgot Liquid resins, :eusa_thin they have a very good system that is under priced in my opinion. ;) I would put them near the top for choice, following delta of coarse, the delta system is point and shoot for the inexperienced tech and after some time in the field you can move into a different set of gear if you like...

You said delta kits, glass-mechnix, glass pro, agis,

loose the last two and add Liquid resins in there and you have a good set of choices. JMO, Scott
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.

Thank you very much for your fast response. I never heard of liquid resins so I will be sure to check them out. One thing that you mentioned was that the glass pro company was hard to deal with. I read a little on there site and they claim to be the best of the best? Its like shopping for a car, everones is better the the rest. It is apparent that there are so many kits availible that it makes me confused on what to look for. It all comes down as cost and performance. I dont want to spend $500 and get poor results. But I dont want to spend $1500 and get the same results. Dollar for dollar who would you go with?

Thank you.

I use Glass Mechanix, for 3 years now. Training was great, in Las Vegas ! the people are great to deal with. and I was doing first class repairs the day I started. (just real slow at first !). I have done a thousand repairs with my kit and have never had a failure with the equipment. Not sure about the other products but I would recc Glass Mechanix 100%
Good luck ,

Delta kits are awesome, their products, training, and support are great too. I also use glass medic ras system, and its also very good. both are good for different types of repairs. Delta is probably better all around because of versatility in my opinion. but the power vacume system is amazing on the glass medic kit. As for gm's training, i have never gone, but so far their support has been amazing. just my 2 cents. good luck, and as Reese Recon recomended, practice,practice,practice....
