Windshield Repair Is Safe!

Post by Deet »

This post is not meant to do any harm to Glass Medic, but I must relate my experience with them to vent of some frustration. I visited their website yesterday( info was ok). Recieved a call today (good response time)and at that time I had asked for info on ANYONE using their system in my area. Was told there seemed to be one in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and that the info would be passed to me in a short time today. Well it has been 4 hours so I called back, it seems the gentleman I spoke to is out for the day (family emergency) and the woman whom I was speaking to was no help at all. I had simply asked her to look into her computer data base and supply me with a Glass Medic user in my area. I was told she does not have that info, then was told even if she did she could not give it to me.

I must say I'm very surprised, as all I want to do is evaluate a system before purchase.

Needless to say I WILL NOT be giving Glass Medic my business, I'm NOT impressed with their (her) attitude towarsd potential clients.

So here is my dilema:

I'm looking to get into mobile windshield repair, but live in Kitchener, Ontario,Canada. Most suppliers of repair kits are in the USA. Does anyone know of any windshield repair Co's in the Kitchener area who use TOP QUALITY repair kits, be that Delta kits or any other QUALITY kits.

Deet,

Welcome to the forums!

In Glass Medic's defense, as a general rule, Delta Kits does not give out customer information without authorization from that customer. If someone were to call, wanting to talk with a customer in their area, we would have to call that customer and ask them if we could give out their number to a prospective customer (assuming they were in when we called).

This can take a bit of time, unfortunately...

Attitude, however, is a completely different thing :)

Jeff,

You are 100% correct, I would not expect Glass Medic or any other Co. to supply such info without prior consent from their client, but it was agreed in my first conversation (early this morning) with the gentleman from Glass Medic that he would supply a client name for my evaluation of their product.

It was only in my second conversation (call to their offices) that the woman who answered gave me a complete different story. I found this most disturbing because she was actualy the one who fielded my original email and passed it along for call back. She was aware of my original conversation earlier that morning.

To make a long story short, I have already spent 7 days researching repair kits via the internet and don't have more time to spend with firms
( not speaking of Delta) who obviously have a loose link in their management/attitude towards potential clients. It's a matter of principle with me, I need rock solid quality equipment and a STRONG firm behind their equipment who values clients be they large or small.

Thanx for your response :)

If my supplier gave out my name, without my consent, to someone who may potentially become my competetor, with the expectation of me being willing to mentor that person, I would be very upset, to say the least. Its their job to train and assist new clients, not mine. Also, how do they know that you are who you say, wanting the information for the purpose you stated? There's a lot of whacko's out there. This doesnt mean that I wouldnt help if asked to, but I would strongly object to being 'put on the spot' so to speak, buy an unexpected call or visit from someone whom my supplier presumed I would help, without consulting me first. The first persom to whom you spoke should have told you what the woman said ... that that information is not available. What he could have said was that he would give the client your information and he(the client) could contact you if he was so inclined.
