does anyone know if Insurace companies pay more for chip repair on R.V's? if so how much do they usually pay, or is it the same regardless of type of vehicle?
Thanks,
Jared

Re: Rv Glass Claims
The few that we have done through insurance have not payed more. The networks look at it as any other vehicle. We always try to sell cash jobs as we charge more for RV's and let the customer submitt for refund.

Re: Rv Glass Claims
I have repaired RV's windshield not too long ago... Paid just the same as any other claim. $50 for the first one, 10 for the second one.
Re: Rv Glass Claims
For a class A motorhome I've never had a problem getting my standard rate which is $75-$80. (have to remember many of these shields cost $800 and up to replace and do require additonal time and effort to repair) You should get paid more for these and I think my rate for these RV's is reasonable and fair.
How do I get this rate from insurance? Simple.....I always ask for it! If CSR or Agent can't help you.... ask to speak to supervisor or senior agent representative. The last thing they want to do, is having to pay for a replacement on one of these RV shields.....so they will work with you!
Can networks or insurance company just plug in the word "RV" in their billing software to accomadate price difference? No, not normally. What they will do to make you and the customer happy is to authorize additonal repairs on the claim to cover the difference.
If all else fails with insurance, I'll simply explain everything to customer about
their claim and what my RV repair rates are. Not once, has a customer ever complained about having to cover the balance. Why would they?

Starqwest,
You must have a golden tongue:) It seems like you really smooze the CSR's. Between getting 30 to 35 referral a week to getting them to raise rates on RV's. What ever it is you are saying, you should put in in print and sell it.
Just how do you do it? Please do share. That is fantastic it is working out that well for you. Keep it up.
