Flat or Tiered Fleet Rates

Post by SGT »

We currently charge a flat rate per windshield for our fleet accounts. We are thinking about applying a tiered rate to new accounts. Just wanted to get an idea of what has worked well for others and why you chose the method you have. Thanks.

Different horses for different courses. We try and find out what the customers wants, we tailor our services and pricing to suit the customer. Not all customers pay the same price. Do not forget to keep putting those prices up, at least in line with inflation each year.

Just to clarify johnyone, thats 25.00 per shield even if it has 3 chips? Is that only if they have volume of work or even for just one job?

I hate having to do $25.00 per shield no matter how many chips. there was a guy that came around to a few dealers here at that price. Luckily the guy isn't around anymore as far as I can tell. That is just too cheap in my opinion.

Charge a "flat rate" or "non flat rate"?

Really depends on what kind of volume fleet provides. I currently provide flat rates for some and never for others!

$25 somewhat low for fleet account. If you provide great service and repairs I'd seriously consider asking for more.

$25 that is half what they were paying 25 years ago. What is happening over there have you got deflation as opposed to inflation. You need to tell the customer the price has to go up. If you are giving good service and saving them money on screens they will allow it. I am the most expensive tech in my area and the busiest.

Yes 25 per shield 1 2 3 chips, but it there is 3 chip may have to decline job cause sometimes they expect to much and the shield may have to be replaced.

Yes there is deflation, hacks, and shops advo for there bussiness if they buy the glass the chip is free or 10, dont go there any more unless they pay my price, some times have to charge more..
