I did a repair this morning for a guy with a ford escape. When I first looked at the shield I noticed 3 chips. He pointed out the one that needed repaired and said the others were already done LOL One looked like it was never touched and the other was done but very very bad. Well he was so pleased with mine he made me take another $20.00 for doing a good job and being so nice. So on my way home I get a call from lynx on another job not too far away. I jam up there to see 2 chips on the shield, she tells me the other was already fixed LOL looked like a star that was never touched. She said it looked the same after the tech fixed it,, in shop not even mobile. So I repaired the other star and it turned out awesome,, she says she will call and give her insurer great review on me. On the way home I get another job with 3 chips on a pick up windshield, no time to do today but if no rain tomorrow another happy customer sorry for the long post was just in great mood and shocked over the crappy repairs being done in the michigan area So I guess if I keep doing nice work I should continue to get more jobs easily. Thanks for listening.
Jeff,
Good For You Thats Always A Confidence Builder...
I Had A Similar Situation Last Fri.
I Pulled Up To A 06, Gti Client Was Very Persistant
He Told Me It Was Just Under The Size Of A Nickel. Just So Happened It Was The Size Of A Quarter, He Told Me He Would Probably
End Up Just Getting A New Windshield Eventually When He Had The Money. Long Story Short. He Was So Pleased With The Finish Results That He Gave Me An Extra $10 . And Said He Didnt Know
That A Break Can End Up Looking That Unnoticeable. And That
He Didnt Think He Would Buy A Windshield After All.
Sorry For The Length Of Post, And I Dont Mean To Toot My Own Horn But It Goes To Prove That People Are Not Educated Enough To Know That Repairs Are Worth It If Done Right.
See Yah
Thanks Onsite,, and L.R I know that is the problem so many people get crappy repairs and then think they all will look like that. The lady I did the shield for last today,, said the guy took almost an hour in the shop and it still looked like nothing was done to it. He kept complaining that it was giving him problems because it was so cold LOL
I have seen a ton of bad reapairs through out the salem area as well. I just wish that some of those repair techs would read this forum and then mabey fire themselves out of shame when they find out what a repair is when done the right way... or one of the many. haha.
Yeah that would be nice.. I have been asking when I see terrible ones just to see who did the repair,, just out of curiosity. So if I ever here a dealer say this person does their repairs I would maybe offer a demo.

Jeff
I've been having that happen on quite an increasing basis lately. The last 3 jobs I've been tipped and have frequently repaired, or tried to repair, previously "fixed" work from other companies. I never charge for fixing someone elses mess, if I'm already there doing a job, and more often than not am handsomely rewarded by nearly immediate referral jobs from all the people they told, and so the cycle continues
I offer to try and rerepair one of the chips but he didn't really want me to. It looked like nothing was done to it,, not even pit filled LOL. I hope I was not the person like these ever or for not long at least I think I have always done pretty good work.
