Interested in WR

Hey guys I've been looking to start my own business for a while and I recently decided to look into windshield repair. I work as an autotech right now and I am going to start doing windshield repairs on the side for some extra cash and hopefully start my own business if things are going well. I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips to get started in WR. Which company should I go with for tools and resin is probably the most important thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance.

There is lots of information on the archive posts on this forum but the key messages would be a) purchase equipment from a company that will offer you training and good support, b) using scrap windscreens, practise, practise and then practise. When you try something that doesn't work, there are plenty of technicians on this forum who will offer you good advice.

Hello this will save you alot of time. Buy from Delta, get their double bridge kit. It is nice to have an extra bridge for multiple repairs on same windshield. You can go to a glass shop and get some laminated glass probally for free. Set up your shield watch there training video with remote so you can pause it. Reed this forum and practice some more. Sounds pretty easy.Good Luck. I almost forgot the most important thing, have patience try not to rush your repairs.

Thanks guys. I ordered the DVD last night and I want to buy a kit asap so that I can get started. I know this is the Delta forum but are their products good quality? Do they ship resins, etc. quickly? Thanks again for the input.

I have plenty of patience but the sooner I get some tools the sooner I can start practicing. I also want to know if a company is reliable and can ship me supplies when I need them. Just questions, not impatience StarQwest.

I have been using Delta Kits tooling, resins and other supplies for years with tremendous success. Customer service is second to none. As far as shipping is concerned well I have never had a problem as they always try to get it out the same day. Just yesterday I placed an order at the very end of the there day and they made sure it was shipped for me that day. Once the package is out of there hands, time really depends on what method of shipment you choose and where you live. Those variables they cannot control. If you decide to go with a Delta Kit you will not be disappointed IMHO of course.

JLHayes13 fill out your profile. Where are you etc. you might have trouble getting Delta supplies if you are on Mars otherwise you will not. The are superb quality and the tech suport is fantastic. How many other manufacturers have the courage to run an open forum like this. Says a lot for the product I think.
