StateFarm to waive deductible again?
Re: StateFarm to waive deductible again?
Pings?
Perhaps different agents have differing opinions. I reported a damage to my chimney when I had a chimney fire a few years back. The heat was intense and caused a crack in the liner. I had a chimney builder inspect the damage and he told me that there was no need to replace the liner since the crack was near the top. When I checked with the agency the next year the "ping" was still on my record even though no disbursement was made...and this is State Farm in Texas. Makes one wonder doesn't it?

I charge a measley $65 for a chip or crack repair. Why get your insurance company involved for such a small amount? Insurance is for accidents.

Rescue,
Not sure why but in your area of the country, repair people do get the higher a rate for repairs.
Unfortunately in Michigan and many other states we don't! Cash jobs here go for $29.95 or less! Guess your just in a better market!
If I even asked for $65 for cash job here, people would laugh at me! So getting $50/10/10 from insurance is acceptable.

Sounds like I need to move to maryland
Starqwest is right but in my part of michigan I can get $40 per repair. Some states are just better in some things but cost of living is probably more in maryland.

One other thought here..
For just a few dollars more you can get zero deductible, which will cover windshield repair. Is this a ploy to milk more from the policy holders?

Re: StateFarm to waive deductible again?

Definately check their card, if it says 0 deduct on their comp on the front of the card than their covered. Probably 30% have coverage. If the damage occured prior to the change of policy it is covered also.
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

Windshield repair is just like any other business. You can market your service as a Ford Escort or a Mercedes S550.
