For what it's worth I guess I should point out that there are also many dealerships in my area who have a w/s repair kit. But I still do the wsr for several of them.

Sounds cool but I have enough on my plate as it is.I think that if you offer 2 many services than it is hard to be excellent at all of them.Remember the saying "jack of all trades...master of none"

Most of the add on services talked about are not that hard to learn.I would not say that you could not be good at more than one ,or for that matter several..You need to look at it at this way.You are a tech right? You learned how to repair w/shields. Not brain surgery.Mechanics are "techs"s right? Its like saying a mechanic will only do brakes because he wants be good a only brakes. In the real world he would not make nearly as good a living as a tech that could do more than one kind of repair. The more you can offer and preform in a skilled manner the more $$$$$$$$$$$ you will make.Once you accomplish this it is much easier to get in the door of any customer. If you repair only w/shields and even if you are the best that there is and you let another tech get in your stop with another service, eventually he will get some of your work. and in some cases all of it because some dealerships dont want to have to deal with multiple accounts. They will take the least path of resistance. Its always nice to be busy and I have found that this is a way for me to control what I make not a used car mgr. ect.If you dont want to pay me for my time I always have more than enough customers that will.Independence is what we all seek..........................
