Dude it doesnt matter how much you get for each repair its how much $ you make whether a guy has a fleet of trucks he only charges $15 per truck and does 25 a day or charges $75 per and gets 10 a week it doesnt matter its what hits the bank at the end of the week.
I find a game of mines bigger or I charge more isnt condusive to the stated goal of the forum which is to help people make a living in this field.
Obviosly its important to know what pricing your market area will bear but im afraid the guys in poedunk will read the claims of $75 per repair and rush out and give it a try resulting in them being labeled the rip offs in the area my advice is charge what you can get and be happy with it if it makes you the living you want. If your competition grumbles you are ruining the area because you charge less than them tell em to find a different job cause your not going anywhere.

Yeah it sucks when people do repairs for so cheap. I tried to convince this lady to let me or someone else even do the work but she couldn't ignore the low price LOL I tried to explain to her what she could expect from someone doing 4 chips for $39.00 but that didn't stop her.

I agree GlassStarz I think the problem for me really isn't so much the price its just the quality that many of them are putting out. Its puts a bad taste in the customers mouth then they for sure won't wanna pay an even higher price if that is what they think repairs look like. I don't really have any direct competition doing low price repairs its just when I go up near detroit that I see them :) I agree if your area has low prices then you will just have to try and pump up your volume to make good money. Some states and areas you will be able to do low volume to make good money.

I'm still on the side so I charge according to the customer and the size of the repair.2wks ago I charged $40. for a simple bullseye and last week I got $75 to do a bigger repair. It was one of those hits where the damage surounded the impact point and in retrospect I should have got more for the 2 hours I spent on it althuogh it was a fresh hit and it did turn out good with a happy customer to boot.I usually do not do these ball type hits but it was a smaller one so I gave it a shot.

I could charge $75 around here and I'd probably average the same 2 repairs a week you're talking about. That's about where I want to be when I'm 90.

Charge a fair price for you and for the customer. Your quality and reliability will keep them coming back.
If I was in a place where a car might get only one chip in its life span I would charge $50 and up. Fortunately I live in a place where some people get chips every 3 WEEKS! I charge what Jiffy Lube charges for an oil change... to do a chip. And yes, I get them coming back chip after chip.
