They do not charge you a processing fee for edi. When you manually fax them the invoices they charge, if you set up with edirect glass they charge you a monthly fee depending on how many invoices you process. I get 30 a month for like $20. I hope this helps.

once you sign up they will send you the software and once installed they will walk you through the program..takes about a couple hrs..so far it has saved me over 300.00 dollars this yr..but you still have to sign up with the networks its all part of the process

ahhh

so sigining up with E-direct gets me the edi software ~~

so EDI isnt something i can just buy? cutting out the middleman?

cause as far as i understand so far, EDI is just a way of sending my invoices electronically to the network. so they dont have to re-key in the data, to process. ( as were faxing the REP/CSR have to manually enter in the data into the comp) thus if im already entering the data on my comp why cant i just send it to the network?

sorry if im way off. (i guess im just thinking out loud)

thanks in advance

look edi is the means by which we transmit invoices to the networks and by using edi we only pay 20.00 amonth..hence no 7.50 fee charge from the networks..if you get 10 jobs a month that would mean 70.50 to the networks if you don't have edi ..so wirh edi we pay 20.00 and save 50.00 more for us..

With edirect there is no software to install. There is a web site that you log into. The process is pretty easy.

tcchevy,

I use my own EDI software and it's through Quest. They're others companies like Mainstreet that also provide EDI software. Do some google searches for EDI glass software and should should find all the answers to your questions.

I am gonna be signing up also I kinda forgot about the savings. Harmon just raised there processing fee to $4.50 which is still cheaper than lynx. So if I use edi I would get the hole $50.00 from lynx and harmon? That would help out with gas prices. I would definetly fit into the $20.00 30 repairs from edirect. Sounds good to me.
