I think you could join what is called their preferred network you won't get any referrels but you can still do ins. jobs and bill thru SGC.Call and ask about it.

Lately I have been on the phone qualifying insurance claims customers without Safelite knowing I was the repairman. I would have the customers insurance papers giving all the needed information until Safelite throws in their trick questions in order to find out who the speaker is.
Things like whats your birth date, work phone number of which I quickly found out from the customer.
Then we came to the list of which Safelite was mentioned first and highly recommended. I said we have a repairman named Martin's Rockchip Repair and they let it be known that I was not on their preferred repair list.
Then said they would call me for availability.
Me: we are on his phone.
They: We want to speak to him.
Me: In a disguised voice answered their silly questions.
In a nutshell, they will try to take your business away from you if they can.

Different types of Safelite affiliations?

So, I have a shop number with Safelite, but have never experienced them refering anyone to me... is there a separate account that I can join with them for referals? (There is not a Safelite tech in my town).

Shepard,

This may help, it's a link to signing up with any or all the networks. Not sure you'll get many referrals through SGC but you can try!

Safelite repairmen will travel 50 miles or more to make a repair. I know this because a month ago I was interviewed for this very position. These guys have their leads, equipment and truck furnished and get around $10.00 a hour. All day
driving about 200 miles = $80.00.
Quick math told me I could make two repairs on my own in 1-2 hours.
Common sense told me to dig my old equipment out and clean it out.
BTW 8 year old resin is still good. :eusa_doh:

No it is still clear and flowed easy. Cured good, I couldn't find any fault with it. I think it was put out by Opterclear. May have misspelled it but I have heard they shut their doors due to the death of the owner.
Hey, if it's not broke, don't fix it.
