Just a few questions

Post by AGSS »

Hello all!! Been a while since last post.

I have found myself in a new position, before I begin for all who don't know I do repair and replacements. Now back to business. I have found myself needing to employ someone to do repairs full time while I do replacements. I am thinking of seperating repair and replacement entities into two seperate llc's. (in this area more networks are looking for REPAIR ONLY shops Iam sure you could see why.)

I am concerned with shrinkage or employee theft. I know a certain amount of this is going to happen, but how much whould be acceptable, how would you track this? Its alot easier to track a missing windshield or missing case of urethane but how do you effectivly track missing repairs?

Also could someone point me in the right direction to be connected with ACT. This seems to be an easy system to use for a mobile repair co. We use edirect TSM now for auto glass, but have a full time csr behind the computer.

sorry for so many questions at once... Chris.

Ok. I have found A.C.T's website. Let me see if I understand this right. A new customer approaches my Tech in the field and has comp. insurance. The tech simply calls ACT and then turns the phone over to the customer. After the claim is approved, we do the job (then send in an invoice?) monies are deposited into our account -the $12.95 processing fee? That simple?

What am I missing here?

You are already signed up with eDirect. Why would'nt you use them for all your business needs?

Absolutley read it. You said you already had a CSR handeling EDI claims and wanted to have two separate entities. One for repair and one for replacement. eDirect offers both scenarios you are looking. Since you mention nothing of disappointment with eDirect, I ask you again why would'nt you use eDirect for all your needs?

I can tell you this, eDirect for repair only is extremely simple to use. It only takes me about 3 min to get an invoice submitted and since you are already paying someone... .

As far as theft, there is not a sure fire way to stop it unless you stay a one man op. There are avenues to contain it though.
