You drove there at the request of the ins company they have a customer who is unhappy with the chip in thier windshield you repaired it making it appear better to the level of customer satisfaction whats the question? We dont just fix cracks and chips to save the windshield from breaking we also restore the appearance and charge for our services you show up at your doctors office he says there is nothing wrong with you does he still charge your insurance company for an office visit?

I had a simular situation a couple of weeks ago, a friend brought his car over with what he told me was a large chip in the the windshield. When I saw it, it was no more than a little and I mean a little nick. Since he drove to my location, and the repair was so small and could be repaired by using pit filler, I repaired it and didn't charge him for it. He was happy with that and has since referred two other people. If this would have been an insurance job, I'd probably have done the same thing. What was my cost?? Less than 10 minutes, two referrals a coupe of days later, and a happy friend (Priceless):p

You had better be extreamly careful here. If the customer doesn't have something that can be fixed because its too small then don't charge the insurance company. If you do this is considered insurance fraud. This is a crime. Remember any business has costs of doing business. Many business's have to do things they don't get paid for. Just consider that sometimes you arn't going to be able to do a job. If you are charging for repairs when non exist it give the entire industry a bad name.

There are plenty of times I have showed up for a job and couldn't do it because there was really no damage. Just a person over reacting. So again be very careful.
