To Seek Out New Technicians
The above heading as per Coitster's Signature. How would many of you here embrace new competition in your territory. Would most of you embrace them with open arms or just try blowing them away. Your opinions would be appreciated.

I know in the dent world, I couldn't give a hoot about competition as most new techs suck!
I'm not too sure about the glass world but I recently joined and haven't been shown too many bad vibes so far but then again I am doing decent repairs so...

i guess every area is different..that said any time you pick up an account you are taking business away from somebody for whatever reason..i guess you would't be happy if it was you.. so if you dont know them personally you really don't care..business is business.. that said i am a friendly guy and usually get to know everyone..and when up north i even had coffee with them.sometimes if you respect each others accounts ..it can be productive..in fact i sold my customer list to a friendly competitor..i only met one #*###** in my whole 20 yrs ..he was very arrogant..AAAAHHHHHH.i didn't like him

Re: To Seek Out New Technicians
Well personaly I like meeting other techs. Whenever I see another tech driving around and I stop them or go up and talk to them. They always seem to eye me with suspicion. However I have met many techs from the Dallas area when I lived there. I liked it.

I am exactly the same as Coister on the one. I even train people that want to work near or around me. There is plenty of work to go around, drive down any street or business area and ask yourself how many you do work for.
I even introduce myself to any replacement companies I meet as well.

Re: To Seek Out New Technicians
I have had the opportunity to meet the majority of repair techs in my area. I usually stop and talk to them when I cross there path. There are always used car managers losing there jobs, so that is usually the main topic. I have also had guys ask to borrow supplies in a pinch.

I wouldn't even get the 'light of day' from the replacement guys here, and got thrown out by one other wsr guy who also runs a replacement company. As mr chip stated, it probaly depends on the area too.

Re: To Seek Out New Technicians
personally I would like to meet the odd repair guy in my area as I am a relative newbie compared to alot of the veterans out there who actually do this as there only income.I would love to ride along with one of these guys even if I had to buy lunch.I know this nice little place down town where they keep it so warm in there that the entertainers don't even wear..............
