My only spin on this is that it is about "dollars and common cents".Now this big issue that has got a real hoopla going here has not infiltrated my neck of the woods yet but I am a true believer in as Screenman would say.."DO A GOOD JOB AND CHARGE A PROPER PRICE" so I can definitly see that somebody operating a business with the required overhead to run it properly and professionally competing with somebody with next to no overhead and a cheap kit is definitly going to ruin and cheapen the industry and cause some friction with the law abiding tax paying professional and image consious techs like ourselves.Right??

Anybody that charges only $10 for a chip repair is an idiot and will be out of business soon. The glass shop that does this is using it as a bait and switch plain and simple to make a healthy living putting in new shields.
If I charged $10 per chip I would have made $11,000 gross working full time. It can't be done.
Don't worry... there are a bazillion cars out there and you only need 1,000 for yourself per year.

Being only 35 miles from the U.S. border I am a little bit familiar with your immigration problem as I do follow U.S. talk radio(rush limbaugh,sean hannidy,etc) and from where I see it this has been going on for years and it has come to a point where they have become a significant % of your population and as such it seems like your elected officials are reluctant to act strongly on the issue hiding behind phrases like political correctness and humanitarion as wellas the fact that the illegals seem to get a sympathetic ear from your slightly left leaning democrats because the plain truth is as far as I see it is that if you try to expell all those millions of illegals out of the country there could be some serious upheaval to deal with.
Really the big problem that I have is with the people that come from other countrys to canada is when they bring all their intollerance with them which in alot of cases is what caused all of the upheaval in their former countries in the first place.Religious people being intolerant of other religions in their midst and thinking that all other peoples religions are inferior and then classing those people as infidels.And don't get me wrong as I consider myself as somewhat pious as I was brought up baptist but I have respect for all religions but I do NOT think my beliefs are superior to someone elses and would not harm somebody just because they have a diiferent religious belief or are from a different race or are gay.Intollerance is the root of alot of wars and strife in this world.Man have we got lots of worm cans open here eh?Getting off topic??maybe a little.

So, a human born one foot on the S side of a political line in the sand should have a different right that a guy born one foot on the N side? Government rules that are against free trade suck! We should fight to change them.

Regarding reporting folks that don't follow municipal & tax rules... I do not report them. More power to someone that can avoid being the victim of robbery at the hands of the government. I dislike having to pay "productivity fines" and if someone can be a good, worthwhile & effective capitalist ... more power to them.

Natuaral selection will get rid of $10 repair folks, it is not our government's job to restrict competition, it is our job to convince our prospects to spend $60 with us rather than $10 on an illegal... It might be tough to compete, but with a gaudy enough Bevery-Hillbillies-style trailer, you will be fine!

If Canada paid $565 per windshield repair... guess where I would be spending some time...
