Injector Kits
Injector Kits
Hi people, I have only ever used the basic injector kit. Some jobs are done with the invoice written out in 20 minutes and others can take as long as 40-60 mins. Who uses vacuum injectors out there; what brand/model and the pros and cons that go with them? They are quite a pricey item so I would like some feedback before I outlay any money if its worth it.
Re: Injector Kits
It's like everything else ,first you buy a small motorcyle then a little bigger bike and before you know it, you have to have a Harley.Save your money and buy the best first.I would suggest the GlasWeld provac standard injector instead of the 2000,just my preference.Like anything else you get what you pay for. Check out e-bay you can save alot on these kits if you are patient.
Re: Injector Kits
If I had a $20k budget to buy 1 system, I would not buy the fancy automatic ones with vacume pressure etc...the ones that cost $1800 or $3500. I tried one and it just couldn't compare to the feel your experienced fingers get when using an aluminum injector from Glassmagicians that costs less than $50! I imagine that it would improve with more experience on it, but I would rather have a nice PolyLite Cat bridge and an old fashioned (Frank Werner-style) aluminum injector... Keep in mind that many $20k Harleys don't have all the bells and whistles of a $7k Suzuki. More technology is not always mo-betta!

Re: Injector Kits
I also use Glas Weld and have 10 of the injectors. Are they the best? I like to think so. Have I tried others? Nope!!!! I did a little research before diving in and it was what I came up with. No regrets after 7 years. Coister likes the LR injectors. SGT likes Delta.. And so on. One day Jeff will send me one of his to field test and I can report on it. You get what you pay for to an extent. This question has been asked many times before and if you read the archives you will find a lot of info on it.

The real key is that whatever system you decide to get. Practice, be patient and learn the equipment.

Most of the well known injectors will do a great job. It's the tech that makes the difference.
