Windshield Treatment

Post by GTECH »

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know anything about a product for windshield treatment. I am looking to add on a service to my current business. Someone has mentioned Nanotec-USA product, that it would last 5 years + . Any feed back is appreciated.

Yeah Gtech, up to 5 years for the side and rear gass. Howevever, for the windshield, it lasts for 30,000km while many have testified that it has lasted far more than that for them.

Try Aquapel, it's a very good product and it won't migrate into a damaged windshield. It will last up to 6 months (much better than rain x) and I get repeat business. You can buy it on e-bay in bulk or one at a time. They have their own site that explains everything. I charge $19.95 for each application, one applicator will do one windshield and not much more.

GTECH, I'll assume you're talking about Diamon-Fusion. (DF-USA is just a distributor)

Our company has been selling DF for the better part of a year--- with phenominal results and great feedback. It's a little spendy, but definitely worth the investment.

The install time runs about 30 minutes, varying with different vehicles. Personally, mine take a little longer (around an hour) because I clean the inside glass as a curtesy. It leaves an unbeatable finish.

My brother has had it on his car for over 3 years now, without even a ding in the windshield. Still running strong. :D

sgailey, How many miles on your brothers car? Are you selling DF as rain repellent, rock chip stopper or both? What is your warranty on each?

He says about 25,000 mi since it's been put on.

It has driven the Alcan highway-- and taken many a rock, I might add. :D

We are currently marketing it as an all-around debris repellent. Rocks, dirt, mud, water, rain, etc. Though people find the ding resistance & mud repellancy most interesting.

The licensor warranties the product for the life of the windshield, and will reapply it at no charge if it ever fails. Also, a national insurance company currently offers a 4 year glass warranty on windshields equipped with DF.

Let's say you get a real humdinger on your windshield that manages to crack the glass--- the insurance will pay for replacement, plus the DF reapplication is at no cost.

Keep in mind these warranties are a function of the Alaskan licensor--- I'm not sure about the coverage in other areas.

Is this some kind of film?

Yes, with two layers:
1.) The bottom layer is a chemical-induced film made of silicon, meaning that you literally grow it into every piece of glass that you treat.

2.) The top layer is a coating that increases the durability of the treatment.
Go out and search for it on the web--- you'll turn up the patent-holder's website in no time.

I'd post you a link, but I don't think it's allowed. ;)

GTECH,

To all members of this Forum, I am not posting to sell products, however, I will address questions or comments posted by other members when they are related to our products. We do not take orders nor endorse on this Forum. I have 15 years experience in the windshield repair and glass polishing/restoration industry as well as a working knowledge of Nanotechnology when dealing with Smart Surface Treatments. That being said and out of the way I will address your question.

Nanotechnology works by way of nano-particles between 1-5nm in size suspended in a colloidal solution that have self-assembly properties. These nano-particles get into the pores of the glass and form a mono-layer structure docked directly to the molecules of the glass. The structure is permanent, however, if the glass is damaged the nano-structure is also damaged but can be repaired by way of spraying fresh nano onto the non-functioning area. The NanoBionic glass repels water, dirt, bugs, acid rain and hard water. When exposed to heavy rains or snow the NanoBionic glass has self-cleaning function. We have tested our Nanotechnology treatment for glass against the many of the previously mentioned "Chemical" coatings and various processes of applying other products. No comparison! Comment about "Migrating into a damaged windshield", there is no migration of the treatment into a chip that occurs after the glass has been treated. As we all know from repair rock chips, anything liquid will get into and contaminate a rock chip, repair the chip then apply your product. Repaired Nanobionic windshield, apply fresh product in the repaired area, the new Nano seeks out and attaches itself to the existing nanoscopic mesh "heals itself" to speak.
To address the comment made by Wilz, I have 60,000 miles on one of my personal vehicles that is completely NanoBionic, the treated windshield still has function. This includes two rough winters in Northern, Va. region as well as being a daily driver.
