Howdy, all! :p

Let me start by saying that I'm a big advocate of 'drying when in doubt'.

...And Perfectionism.

Recently, there have been a lot of bullseye-breaks showing up at our place, both old and new. By old, I mean previously repaired by someone else. And by new, I mean that yours truly has done the repair.

Many of the old repairs had dark areas around their fringes, which could be none other than trapped air or water. I've always looked upon such repairs disdainfully, attributing the imperfections to poor workmanship. Naturally, some of it could be related to the age of the repair, but they still provoke the same feeling from me.

Now--- getting more to the point, these last few bullseyes I've done this week came out with these same 'trapped imperfections', much to my dismay. I've rarely had this problem with bullseyes before, they'll typically come out damn near perfect for me.

So!--- I was wondering if the members of the forum might throw in their useful hints and tricks to fill those stubborn bullseyes all the way.

I use two in combination with eachother, heat and pressure (never on star/combination breaks, though). Today I was able to squeeze about 1/2 of the stubborn air from the edges using my knuckle & probe with heat.

I've also done drilling on the fringes, but really don't like to.

What about you guys? :)

If you would fill out your profile so the forum can get to know you so to speak you will get more responses to your questions. I mean why should we jump in to help when you don't think enough of us members to tell us about yourself. Give us something BEFORE we give you something so to speak.

One of the most important things you can do to get good Bullseye repairs is several vac cycles rather than going for the quick fill slow working of the resin combined with air removal will fill it to the rim myself I also pressure cure just leave the injector on the glass and let the sun or your light hit it for a good cure this works for me with the equipment I use (LR)

GlassStarz, do you cure the resin from the outside of the windshield or the inside? I would think either way might cure the resin onto your equipment!

I just take of the filter/cover and cure from outside.

You cannot cure a repair on the outside from the inside. The reason is that the lamination will prevent the U.V. from curing the resin. Several years ago I repaired a crack on the inside by the drivers side I tabbed the crack and let it set for one hour in the sun. After one hour the resin was not cured at all.

the pv layer is why you dont get sunburn riding in the car always cure from the outside if you actually want to cure LOL

You're the only that approches a new comer with a question on a question ,CHAPEAU !
When I got on this FORUM , I didn't think about filling out my profile first either.
I was to anxious to get an answer on my questions , plus the FORUM doesn't give any indication to take care of this first,

We old timers here keep hoping that Jeff will make it MANDATORY to fill out the profile BEFORE a new member can post. This would STOP some of the occasional PORN from being here and I think it is just common courtesy. Welcome aboard and I always try to get the new members to fill out their profile before posing questions so you know I wasn't just picking on you.
