5 minute repairs

Post by desertstars »

I cannot leave my previous post in re the NWRA at simply that.

(Go back and refer to those posts if you are interested.)

So, I start a new one.

This is a complicated problem that needs to be resolved.

I can't stress the importance of overcoming the problems of steering and chintzy or non-existant repair tech certification without further comment.

In almost 10 years, absolutely nothing has been accomplished by any so-called repair organization to address or redress those problems.

In fact, matters are much worse.

Ten years ago, neither of the two major "networks" existed. One of those major networks was even on the verge of bankruptcy at the same time they were insinuating themselves between repairs and the insurance company genuises.

Repair1, Coister and others have politely questioned why repair manufacturers and suppliers aren't requiring anything other than a video and a promise of millions when some push and go moron invests in whatever system.

That's a good question that constantly remains unanswered and I sometimes wonder if some in the industry are as committed to quality and integrity as some of those who buy their products.

I don't mean to be contentious nor bite the forum that feeds me, but a few direct questions are called for and I intend to ask them.

Aside from the NWRA which I consider to be impotent, where are the suppliers in regard to the major problems in our industry?

In fact, from a past post, one of those suppliers requested Delta to snip any reference to their company.

No doubt, those cowards continue to lurk.

And yes, you are cowards.

You are absolutely correct, Jeff. There are many people who post to this forum and many who read it and don't post that are committed to honesty and integrity in our business.

I'm looking to giving my business to a supplier that has that same business philosopy and I'm willing to give that business to someone other than a company that requests to be snipped.

Maybe I'm wrong but as my Irish grandmother used to say: " I don't know but I don't think so."

Nevertheless.

I don't intend to pay $150 a year to the NWRA to fix a broken wheel as long as I can pay a realistic $50 to buy a new one.

And, it wouldn't hurt to find out that the suppliers in this business lifted their collective asses off their chairs and dedicated themselves to promoting or organizing an association that deals SPECIFICALLY with resolving the issues that could make or break us in the next few years without the involvement of any segment whatsoever of replacement companies.

My final suggestion is that the windshield repair suppliers themselves have a responsibility to stop relying on quasi-protective groups like the NWRA to protect this industry and let it go at that.

The suppliers need to read the manual on trench warfare regarding replacement companies and they also need to qualify just who they sell their equipment to without proper training.

That's my two cents worth.
