Arizona insurance fraud

Post by Dave M »

Interesting piece in the latest glassBYTES newsletter regarding windshield repair insurance fraud at a car wash in Arizona. Ten people were arrested but said they were only doing their job! Hey, they were even using a UV dome! They looked professional! You can also go to ABC15.com to see the video. Anyone recognize any of these jokers?

If you watch the video, it said they jumped on the ROOF of the car and started drilling....What the HECK????

I'm sure none of you are doing it, but it goes without saying. NEVER tell your customer to just put today's date of damage for their repair. Let them tell YOU when it happened. That's what these guys were arrested for I think. Insurance fraud.

Just crazy.

You are absolutely correct. NEVER coach the customer into saying what, where or when the damage occured. NEVER!!
I have seen this happen MANY times. Customer says it happened 6 months ago, but they have switched insurance companies since then. When asked how to get the claim in on the current insurance, we tell them IT CAN'T. If they want to call and lie, we can't control that.
Losing a customer is never good, but losing every insurance carrier for fraud can be devastating.

In all sales jobs you can find the person who is untruthful to close a sale whether its the old lady in passadena story when buying a car or the program car pitch (Rental) Myself I find I sleep better at night being honest and its just as easy to do it the right way.
