I believe our situation is much like the replacement industry. We try to lobby for higher prices, but when the insurance industry does a survey and sees that a customer can walk off the street and you charge him $30 or $40 for a repair, it is pretty tough to convince Allstate that a repair is worth $75.
I agree Matt. There are many reasons why shops charge lowball rates. It may be market saturation, hackers and WSR hobbists, a poor precieved value of this service and in the end you will never charge it. IMHO, there is no region in the USA that on a retail level you should'nt be able to charge a min of 50.00 for a repair.
