moisture evaporator good or not?

putting together a kit from delta. i already have one of there new bridges and really like it. we catch afternoon showers here very often and with me being strictly mobile (when i get started) here in southern louisiana i was considering purchasing delta's ds100 moisture evaporator. if anyone has used one of these any info on how well they work would be greatly appreciated.

If you didn't have one; how would you remove the moisture from the chip?

Mr Bill, maybe with a micro torch. Iwould say you can never have too many tools. Please do not try to get into this trade to cheaply those that do rarely succeed.

Speculate to accumulate. The cost of a drystar is equal to a couple of repairs or a meal out. Invest in quality tools and plenty of training.

Screenman is correct. Purchase quality tools. I only use the DS 1000 evaporator. It works really well. I am not comfortable using an open flame in someones vehicle. You will need some way of removing moisture if your going to produce quality repairs.

I also use a moisture evaporator(radiant heat type) rather than a mini torch(forced). Worth every cent. Either will get the job done. If you have not used a mini torch for evaporating, perhaps a radiant heat style evaporator would be best. Just a suggestion.

I use the moisture evaporator from delta. I would suggest a little practice, my first use caused the break to double in size.

If your stuck, use the cigarette lighter in the car ( if it has one), not as effective as a M.E., but better than nothing.

The only one I've ever seen was kinda goofy. It was like a cigarette lighter on a handle! LOL

Mini butane torch works great for me.

Hey, Robinhood, how would doing a dryout result in an open flame inside someone's vehicle?

Not sure what tecnique you use but it sounds like you are on the wrong side of the windshield!
