I'm new here. screenman I am from a rainy climate and have a couple questions I"d like to ask you. Considering you've been doing this for 19 years I am sure you're very good at what you do.
Are you mobile? If so, how do you work in the rain? What equipment do you use. I have seen some services that put up a tent at the car dealerships and just drive them under that to do repairs. Do you do mostly retail customers or is your target market commercial?
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks !

Not sure what this means, please explain. What is wet vacuum equipment and what is dry vacuum equipment?
Re: What is your average time spent on a repair? Lets Be honest...
I always tell customers 30-40 minutes on average it usually takes me 20-30 sometimes over an hour. Spend sometime and chat with customers explain to them what you are doing don't look rushed. This is the reason why some of my jobs are longer than they should be. I don't feel that an extra minute or two on a vaccuum or pressure would hurt anything

I think tooldini (Jeff) made a good point. Every job is different.
I know some jobs take me longer to complete then others.I want the best results for every repair I complete.
But generally I have the total job from start to finish completed in a hour.:eusa_danc

I have plenty that take me that long, many times I know I could have stopped and cured but why not make sure all air is out and resin is in. Plus chat with customers help them remember you next time they get a chip. There is no way I could fix any damage in 10 minutes. I would spend at least 8 minutes on vacs and pressures on a simple round bullseye then curing time of at least 4 minutes. Thats if I am sure that the damage was not rained on or washed ever. Thats with glasweld equipment maybe others are different.

I am like tooldini, I take my time with the job and cust.. I let the customer watch and even get in the auto to see what I am doing. They are blown away watching the break disapper infront of their eyes.
I try to give them there moneys worth for the time I spend with them. We BS back and forth and we both get to know each other and families. They are my advertizment.
I always give them 3 cards and say to them when I am done: "If you like what you see, please tell your freinds. If you do not like what you see, Please forget who I am." That gets a laugh from them and they will say they will tell there freinds about me..
My dad has been a car salesman for 40 or so years and was respected and I try to treat people like he did. I here people say I am a rare breed. I am just doing what I was tought years ago watching him ...
My dad passed on a year ago and I still have people that delt with him say they injoyed working with him and I work just like him...
I average about 30 plus min's. per job, but take as long as an hour or more if needed. I just call the next one in line and say I am still working a chip. They like it when you keep them informed.
Sorry for being long winded on this one... It is all PR with the customers.
