In situations like this convince the customer on the dollar amount he is saving by not having his "hired labor" do the replacement. I did this for a trucking company I worked for. I was charging the company $35 per windshield I repaired. That was the cost of a new windshield. The difference was, when they figured out thier labor cost and the downtime for curing it was well worth my service to them. This is how I started in WSR. Just my 2 cent...

each customer is different and a good salesperson figures out how to get the business I would rather make one trip for a day and make $600 than dozens at $35 and when the company has a parent office in NJ that needs to approve everything 1 600 dollar approval is easier to get than 20 $35
and quite honestly I dont want the work if I have to keep going back School busses are a pain in the arse doing it one day is ok going out and crawling up on the darn things often isnt worth my time I am too busy with dealer work I would much rather drive to on dealer be there 3 hrs and do $300-400 doing wr and paint and go home than drive a 1/2 hr each way to work on a school bus for $35

bill em to they hollar then back it back a dollar. Not my words but seems to make sense. Unfortunately the price we often get paid is more down to our sales ability, rather than the ability to do a good job.
