Was this not talked about in your training. This is something we spend time discussing with people that come to us. As an answer why pay someone commision for something you can do yourself.

Yup, agree with the screenman,

I spoke with NIWA, It sounds like a great idea, National biz and all that, but they don't even get paid by some of the insurance companys I already invoice and get paid from!

But, it may save you time and it does not cost you anything if you do not invoice them, but if you do, you pay 15% of the total bill which is fair enough.

BUT. You only get paid when they get paid which is a little off putting to me.

If insurance companys do close the doors on the small windscreen repair businesses invoicing them direct, then NIWA could be onto something. But as it is, if I do a repair for a Direct Line customer, I send the invoice myself to Direct line recorded delivery. They then send the cheque to the policy holder who then phone me and pay via debit card, cash or cheque. Yes there is a element of trust but I have never had a customer let me down, YET:eusa_pray

Why not try direct invoicing first and then using NIWA or SICP as a fall back option?

The official line from DL last time i asked was that the excess is NOT waived for non approved companies. Therefore getting round an obvious bit of steering. Did try and speak to DTI but they were not interested as it was not a significant market share in terms of the overall market. Even though it was a deal between the largest glass replacer and the largest direct insurer they still were not interested. What a shame they will have to carry on being ripped off by A/G.

Depends who you speak to. I can 100% confirm that Direct Line has paid my customers who then pay me.

I have spoke to direct line about this and they do tend to change the story depnding who you speak with.

Excuse me , but all this shoving papers around making you wait for your money., I don't understand.
Isn't it possible you get paid by the costomer after the job is done and hand him your invoice marked ,, PAID IN FULL ,,and have him submit this invoice to get reimbursement from his insurance company ?
This way you are not put off and wait for your money !!
That's why I work by CCC rules only. (cash, creditcard, check).
My 2 pennies worth.
