credit cards

Hi Daniel,

Hope all is going well with your new business.

We stumbled on an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to accept credit cards recently.

The service works from any phone - cell or landline - and no other equipment is necessary.

The startup cost is $99 and the discount rate is 3.95%. There are no other charges!

As far as logo shirts go, an excellent and inexpensive source is WearGuard - http://www.wearguard.com. They will let you open a 30 day account - an easy way to build a credit history for your company.

Mike,

We cannot have links that lead to reseller programs in this forum, regardless of the product. If you would like to post the information about this service, and the name and phone number of the company, that would be fine.

Thanks!

That's good info, ChipDoctor.

I'm not going to tell you how many problems and how much time it took for us to set up a cc program with one of our fleets three years ago.

Makes me tired to even think about it.

I received something that might interest you yesterday in the mail. Nextel now has a phone with a cc swiper down the side of it. Phone and swiper all in one. Looked very inticing. HOwever, I'm sticking with cash and checks.

Boyd,

Nearly every provider of merchant account(s)/equipment has a wireless/cell based terminal.

I do agree with you. The extra fees and percentages that Merchant Account Processors charge can really rack up and I, personally, see no need to accept CC's for my WSR business.

Many (if not most/all) states/counties have Fraudelent/Worthless Check laws. In, at least Jefferson County, Alabama, a merchant could present a "worthless" check to the DA along with a fee (of course, and as I recall, it was ten bucks) and the DA would criminally prosecute and recover funds/fees/damages. The catch was that the Merchant had to verify the identity of the checkwriter by ensuring that Drivers License# and telephone #'s, etc... were either printed or written on the check.
