Air bubble in the repair

Thank-you for the info. Is the rain sensor a part of the windshield glass or is its electronic wiring stuck to the windshield like the rear view mirror?

If you look at the rear view mirror base through the glass you will see a thing where its glued to the glass thats the sensor it reads through the glass not part of it everyone does it the same regardless of mfg

Well, you received 5 pages of reply's and numerous suggestions. Just was curious to find out if any methods offered solved your air bubble problem? If not, did you find out on your own the answer to what may have been causing this?

I think many of us on here are waiting for a thread closing response.

Another thought on this subject. When drilling into a screen make sure the drill slants slightly downwards, putting the bottom of the hole lower than the top. You will be suprised how many guys let the drill hang slightly, making it almost impossible to pit fill properly.

I think only Gedis can provide us with the information where looking for. Being located across the pond from him (lake Michigan) I believe I have the answer to his problems since we share same temps and repair conditions. I've experienced the same effect that he's described and have found a solution. Unfortunately, can't help somebody that doesn't respond.

Oh well, guess he doesn't have this problem anymore!

starquest, have you considered that the reason that this thread has generated more replies than most is that more people than just the originator are interested in the responses or solutions and everone is here to learn from each other, therefore your reponse is of benefit to a wider audience than just one person

Why is it necessary for him to respond? If he found his answer and corrected his problem, it shouldn't matter who was right or wrong with the solution.
this isn't a game show with a prize for the winning answer!

I consider the vacuum cycle a very important moment during the REPAIR. By "WORKING THE BREAK' as I call it, meaning to flex the glass, insures that "ALL" the air has been evacuated. IF THERE IS NO AIR THERE IS NO SPOT. During the vacuum cycle is when I do all my paper work, or scratch my rump and pick my nose,(may be not in that order) but thats when I really take my "TIME"
