Re: Insurance Coverage

Not sure how RLI operates nationwide but in my area they write policies through underwriters. Of the top of my head I pay roughly 200.00 for 1 mil liability only coverage. This is not a garage keepers policy.

To the best of my knowledge since I have not had the need to file a claim,(knock on wood) they cover damage you my cause as long as it is from the service your policy is written for. So if your policy is written for WSR and you add on other services,(headlight restoration) you wont be covered should claim something from that service.

My experience with having accounts added has not been the same as others. I have not paid to have an account listed and DECK sheet faxed directly to them to this point. Now if you want to have an additional added to your policy and be covered to work under it then there is a charge.

Blind Squirrel brings up some good points that I will have to investigate my policy fine print again to be safe.

My buddy Dave over at Liquid Resins just sent me copies of the RLI @Home Business Protection Insurance Program Rating Guide, and the Business owners coverage form, all 49 pages. These documents are too big for me to post on the forum, but if anyone is interested in taking a look at these documents, send me a private message with your e-mail address and I will be happy to pass them along.

It appears that in addition to windshield repair, RLI does offer coverage for several other auto reconditioning services, and there are several different options for liability limits, etc.

Coverage is available in most states, but there are a number of states that are not covered. I would still recommend that you contact RLI directly if you have specific questions about coverage or need a quote for your business model, but these documents would help answer a lot of questions asked about RLI on this forum.

Thanks Dave.
