Best Single Day Ever!

I believe may charges were 28 flat and 30 flat at the car rental agencies. That was seven years ago so I'm not exactly sure. That included 30-35 star repairs and the rest were abrasion repairs.

In my opinion, threads like this are meaningless. I could tell you my best single day ever was $2,500, but what does it matter? Is it true? I can respond with any kind of figures. So So true. Anyone can be anything and post anything they want to here and it could be all lies. The real shame is that anyone who knows the trade and operates a real business can laugh at some of the posts while the new comer with with a boat load of ambition may get misguided only to be disappointed down the road in the real world.

You are correct about a meaningless thread....unless we also explain that the high profit days are accompanied by "Dedication" "Devotion" "Patients" and pure dee sweat (sometimes)

I've had some good days this past summer, a few above $500, one over $600, one more like $800 with my wife helping, doing half and half interior work and w/s repair, and a few graphics, very long hours, expenses, and lots of gasoline. So I guess it's all relative, how good of days they really were.

I disagree. Yes, we could all be lying about our best day ever, but what would be the point of that? I don't think anyone is boasting here, just using input from others to gauge their own business success.

For the most part you can tell who is doing well and who isn't just by the type of posts they make. Those with positive and helpful posts are typically the ones that are making the most money. Those that are always negative and attacking others because they have differing opinions typically are not doing well and have little of value to contribute. That's not to say we shouldn't have disagreements, but some posts are oozing with uncalled for sarcasm.

I get complaints every day about a select few forum members who are disrespectful of the opinions of others. Therefore I suggest that if you don't feel a thread has value, don't post to it. If enough people feel the way you do the thread will get buried soon enough.

What I find most interesting about this thread is the fact that everyone who bothered to answer the question is excited about the money they are making, whether a couple of hundred, or a couple thousand. What I hope will come from this thread is some sharing of ideas of how these big days are accomplished.

I will let Scott speak for himself, but I assume he started the thread to figure out just how good he is doing compared to other professionals in the industry. I think that is very valuable information indeed. I would love to know how many repair systems my competitors sell.

It goes without saying that some days are much better than others. In my case it was seldom that I hit $1000 in a day, and I was very happy with a $300 day, but I did get have a really great day once or twice a month. I had my share of days where I didn't make a dime too, especially when I first started, but this thread was titled Best Singe Day Ever, and for the most part everyone has stuck to the topic.

"Ripleys Believe It Or Not"

My best single day ever was $10,795!!! Before any of you say.... Starquest, now that's some total B.S. and how is that possible? Well, before passing any judgment just let me break it down for you and share my story!

I had 12 referred scheduled insurance repairs lined up that day, which was the highest I ever encountered in this business. Four of those were multiples but all where repairable. It also helped that some were AAA jobs paying $75/12.50/12.50/12.50 at that time. (Needless to say, they don't pay that well anymore in my area but they did back then)

Now your probably asking yourself how does 12 insurance repairs equate to $10,795? Well, truthfully they didn't and never could!

I was just feeling so good about myself that day that I did something I seldom ever do. In between jobs I stopped to get some Gatorade and decided to blow a few dollars buying some scratch off lottery tickets because I was really feeling lucky that day! Well guess what happened? On the 12th job of the day while waiting for UV lamp to cure repair, I pulled the 5 scratch offs from my back pocket and guess what? I hit on one of them for Ten Big Ones!!!

Do I expect many of you to believe this story? No, not really! Does it matter to me if you do or not? No, not at all! Can I provide proof that this really happened? Yes I could but who really cares except for myself, my wife and daughter where after tax payment went into her college mutual fund. (around $8000) Will I ever experience this again? Probably not cause after that day I haven't played a instant scratch ticket since. The odds of doing this again are not in my favor.

It was just a lucky day for me and a best day!

Having best days are cool and help raise the bar for daily improvements. Today I'm happy when I can make $200-$300 daily. If you can accomplish that in repair your doing something right and will most likley survive in this business!

Brent is right on, I'm curious about others in the business and love the forum. I read, listen and think about what's on this forum to help improve my own business.
