Importrance of a company logo

Post by S&W Glass Repair »

I'm curious how many businesses out there have a company logo? I spent hundreds of dollars after 6 months in business to design a logo. It's funny because that was back in 1989 and everything was drawn by hand and submitted to me for changes and approval and took about 1 week, today this can be accomplished while you wait on a computer.

1) Do you have a logo?

2) Do you think it's helpful?

I do as I believe it gives people something to remember you by, think about Target, their bullseye, you see it and you know it's them. Pepsi, Coke all have a logo to identify them by.

I created my logo with some software called logo design studio, I haven't actually put it to use but I don't see that it really would make much difference unless you plan on blasting that image all over the earth. http://www.repairchips.net/nu-view4L.jpg

Jeff,

I tend to agree with you. "Branding" even on a small scale would require many forms of continual advertising exposure which translates to big bucks. I think for the small business, AKA me and maybe some of you, can not afford to saturate the market when just starting out.

I can tell you this, in addition to your logo, your company name has an impact as well. I have on numerous occassions been told by network referrals that they were given a choice, not knowing anything about there choices, went with me becuase of our name. Does that mean were better than the next company? Who knows but I would like to think so.

In all the years I have been in business I have not had a logo. Would I have been busier if I had one? Would I have made more money? would I be happier? the answer to all these questions is no. This is not because having a logo is wrong, it is more the way I do business, face to face all the time I love it, my logo is me. Once met never forgotten.
