Certification

I am in favor of certification, or even re-certification. I have been in the glass industry, including repair, for 17 years. My wife and I ecided to take a trip to Eugene, OR and go to the class that Delta offered. I have been doing chip repairs for a long time, and have done an awful lot of them. After the class, I realized that I was not doing them as good as could be done. My repairs have improved substantially since then.
You're right, a piece of paper doesn't make you a great repair tech, but proper repair techniques, and attention to detail do. You won't get that from a guy with a syringe, or an ice cream bucket.
