In Isleton CA I ran across a bait shop that the guy called "The Master Baiter".

I really like plays on words, and unusual stuff. I'll think about it for a while to see if I come up with anything.

A simple google search under "windshield repair" will probably provide many names already used in our industry and will give him some ideas as to what's available and what isn't.

Usually I'm good at this, but I'm a bit stumped coming up with a great name for my new business. I am doing repair only. I need to get it figured out quickly.

It's got to ring my bell if I'm going to look at it and say it all the time. I know you all have some great ideas....whether or not you will share is another question. Open the vaults and throw some ideas at me ladies and gentlemen! All ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I know it is dumb. Trying to come up with a company name that will be remebered and such. Our company name is not remembered. As it is a holding company (we are a service company that dose alot of differant things).

We started as glass repair inc. Now we are the "chip guys". As we use old chip delivery trucks as our service vehicals. ( step vans).Our service pro's even leave unopened bags of chips in the service areas of our vendors just to remind them.

Even when we send out our service trucks to do road side repairs. Its the "chip guys" they call. Hell the "chip guys" pressure wash trucks and fix windsheilds. We do tires and even fix broken fuel lines on road side. Yet, once we started in the widsheild repair side as a beer money making thing. Our "name" changed. Go figure. WE WERE ABLE TO OFFER SOMTHING MOST OTHERS DIDN'T OFFER. So now we are called one thing, yet have a differant company name.

Am I going to play it. You bet your but I am. To get an idea WE DO NOT DO MANY GLASS REPAIRS. They are contracted out. Labor is very hard to come by here. Our service trucks (we only have 3) are booked up.

I WISH I could find 4 drug free cdl able folks that wanted to work 60-80+ hours a week for 20 bucks a hour to start. I just can not find them. The only thing holding my company back is sorcing labor.

Comming up with a company name. That is a hard on. I would one go for at least a S corp (C corp if you are going to hire more then 5 folks). Do a name search in your state. This will give you an idea of the names available.

You could hire a marketing manager to help you in this, just is it worth it? I do not know. Much of that depends on the person and the amount they are going to invest.

Hell, I have know folks to spend 50k on a simple biz try and not ever get a lick of pro lic help. Most of them ended up chasing the guy that spend 20k and paying 4k to have pro help.

Yet, to each their own. Naming your company is a MAJOR marketing move. Some think it is a fun game. It isn't. ITS THE NUMBER ONE thing next to the service you provide that you will be remembered by. So why not spend a few bucks and get pro help?

Lets pretend. Instead of it only being say 10k that you are investing. Lets say its 1 million bucks that you do not have. Whould you take the same path?

The only differance the guy with 10k waits to call for help AFTER he is screwed. The guy with 1 million calls before he even gets out of bed. THEY BOTH pay the same rate.
