Maxryde is correct, plate glass resin is about the same price as windshield repair resin. A $30 bottle will get you about 5 repairs, so the resin cost per repair is about $6 vs $.60 for a windshield repair. On a percentage basis that is a lot, but on a repair basis it really isn't all that much.
For me time is the biggest reason for charging more for a plate glass repair.

Maxryde: So what u r saying is that if I don't want the job I should play the liability card but if I do want the job then I should get the proper resin and go for it??

Well for sure use the appropriate resin for the job, and yes I have found that folks don't balk as frequently when the liability issue comes to light. I find that the low pressure approach is best in any sales, THEY decide based on information. You or I provide professional opinion. Simple, they pressure them self when the knowledge is gleened in this type of pitch. So if you want to make the sale it is appropriate to address the structural integrety issue. Repair restores the strength of the payne. I hope I am being clear this time:D
What ever you decide best to ya Toab. Scott

Thanks for the info guys.Just by chance can u double duty this plate glass resin as pit filler too? Just wondering as the stuff may kick around in my kit for a while as the demand for plate glass repair seems to be fairly weak.

Re: Plate Glass Repair
Plate glass resin is a much higher viscosity than most pit resins, so you have to be extra careful to avoid getting air bubbles and exposing the bottle tip to sunlight, but it works excellent as a pit filler if you take the proper precautions.
