A well balanced client base will give you a more even total dealership stuff slows down but your fleets are more concerned about crack outs with the up and down temps so they are easier to sell the same for the cold call retail its esy to sell them on the need to fix now
Myself I dont like to work in the real cold or when crap is falling out of the sky so my total is down but by choice I will be back in Calif for jan to build the new area so I can see the light at the end of the weather tunnel

Re: Worst Month of the year
Well even with nearly 16 days of rain the sun has shone on my business. I picked up several new accounts, mostly small car dealers but then I hit the jackpot with International Truck sales. I have been dropping off my obligatory letter once per year for the last 3 or 4 years, this year they have a new manager who not only is for glass repair but gave me carte Blanche to fix whatever was broken. I priced him at $30 + $10 based on his fleet numbers of nearly 500 trucks. He indicated to me he was 300 trucks down from his normal stock. I hit it off with this guy and my two and half day total was $1250.00 and he made it clear he would pay right away as he understand I'm a small business. I'm heading back this morning as they open at 9am EST to finish up. Even though it was a two and a half day total I have other accounts so I basically was working from 12 noon to 5pm. An excellent account which is now on a 60 schedule, I haven't hit his other lot which has 175 vehicles on it. If any of you have an International Truck sales near you (Factory store) let me know, this manager has been with the company some 30 years and his pop worked for them, he has a tremendous amount of pull. He asked me if I would like to obtain Penske which has been incredibly tough, I only have one branch. He's in very good with the National office and they do tons of business with him so this may be incredible. He has told me the largest concentration of Penske vehicles is within a 75 mile radius of Philadelphia, nearly 5000! So anyway a sour month has turned into a pretty decent month!
Cheers,
Scott

Re: Worst Month of the year
I had the Penske account in our area for many years, and it was great. Some of my biggest days were gotten by hitting their lot after 5:00pm or on the weekends. Not always easy getting in the door, but worth the effort for sure.

The nice thing about getting a really hard to sell to customer is, it is going to be even harder for the next guy to take them off you.
Now go get another account, the easiest time to sell something is hwne you have just sold something. Why, because your confidence is up with the clouds go for it.
