Interior Repair

Post by Brent Deines »

Do any of you do auto interior repair (leather, vinyl, velour)? If so, do you feel that one supplier shines over the rest?

What is the most common type of interior repair? What is the most profitable type of interior repair?

I'm curious to see how much crossover there is between the windshield repair industry and the interior repair industry. I used to do a little of it years ago, but never got too serious about it.

We feel the market for interior repair is drying up over here. A area that will support 3 dent guys and 4 paint guys struggles to provide enough work for a very hard working trim repair guy. However as an add on it is a good thing, low start up costs and easy to learn as long as you have some imagination. Over here we used to do 4 lots of phone holes a day now it is one lot a month. I personaly do not enjoy seat repair although I know some guys love it, I could never get it permanent enough.
Glassaid in the UK have been selling kits and consumables for about 18 years, so they should have the experience and I am sure they have an outlet over there.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.
