Please advise where on SGC's site or edirects site where you are entering this mailbox code so we might be able to help better. I think what you are referring to is the 5 digit ID#. They will be on every SGC fax and can be found on your SGC Network Participation / AIC Agreement Rates paperwork. Other than that sorry.

What I don't understand is why would you want to run SGC invoices through eDirect or EDI at all?

Just register your shop on their vendor site (it's free) and if you choose EFT like Dave M suggested you'll receive timely payments.

As far as your employees billing out jobs nightly that's easy!

Set up a separate company E-mail address for SGC billing only and give them your user ID and password. Pretty simple process ;-)

If you are just using eDirectGlass for billing Safelite and you don't use all the other features available to you, I agree with StarQuest 100%.

However, many technicians tell me they choose to use eDirectGlass because they can track all of their billing in one spot, and receive quick notification whenever a claim is rejected. Others like the fact that with eDirectGlass much of the information that you otherwise have to fill in manually is entered automatically, saving time and money. eDirectGlass can be used for quotes and work orders, accounts receivable can be tracked, jobs can be scheduled, images can be attached to documents, marketing efforts can be tracked and evaluated, as a point of sale solution that allows for printing invoices, processing credit cards, and processing checks. I have not tried it, but I believe you can also share information between eDirectGlass and QuickBooks for even more options.

I don't mean for this to sound like an advertisement for eDirectGlass. We also have many customers that choose to use ACT, eliminating the need to do anything except make a phone call. Depending on the option you choose your payments can be collected for you and deposited directly into your account, leaving you free to focus all of your time on finding customers and repairing glass. There is certainly something to be said for the simplicity in that, but now I sound like I'm selling ACT.

The point is, it's all a matter of time management and personal preference. There are many different insurance billing solutions, and many different reasons to use them. It is also getting easier and easier to do your own insurance billing. Heck, one of these days it may be as easy as it was back in the 80's when I started. Naaaaaaa, I think we are a ways away from that yet.

Back to the original question. I have not had anyone ask me for these codes, but if they are being called for on the eDirectGlass site, I would suggest calling eDirectGlass. To the best of my knowledge that type of information should be built into the system and not something that you need to worry about. I'll shoot them an e-mail tonight to see if I can get an answer.

Bent,

I feel fairly confident that I have given this tech accurate information. When using edirect glass to utilize HSG or SGC networks EDI submitions the each require a little more set up and have unique data entry needs compared to lynx. This program ID# he is looking for can be found on the SGC Network Participation / AIC Agreement Rates sheets or on every referral/job fax from SGC and is used for edirect submitions.
Other networks referral data does not migrate into edirect EDI shell the same way that lynx does. Since I now EDI right on SGC's site it is much easier than edirect with let data entry.

I also agree edirect is a great and economical way to handle in one spot all invoices and much more. Plus it is very user friendly. It is great for the novice and expert as well. I certainly am glad I went that route. That being said, since most networks will let you EDI on there sites, if you have through record keeping the need for EDI services is diminishing depending on your needs. As long as Lynx holds out I will use edirect. When they switch I will re-evaluate. I think I would rather spend my 19.95 a month with Delta Kits on supplies that make me money!

You have much more experience than I do actually filing claims through eDirectGlass and directly through the SGC site, so unless I hear differently from either eDirect or SGC I have no reason to disagree. All I have to go on these days is what I hear from customers.

Thanks for the input, I hope it helps aikorei and others that may have the same question.

True! However, I will be receiving the faxes, not my techs. Which is where I run into the problem...they need the list so they don't have to call me every time they bill for insurances.

Also, I appreciate *VERY MUCH* the responses to this topic. I have since received a full list from eDirectGlass tech support. I have made copies for my techs, and I am good to go. Thank you everyone for your help!!
