If the WSR co. doing the repair isn't getting paid for the job, then it is truly FREE!
To me, it's funny that a small percentage of humans fall for silly gimmicks.

So if a small percentage of humans fall for such silly gimmicks, then we can assume that a large percentage of people DONT fall for such silly gimmicks.
If I had full coverage and I had a chip and I didnt want to pay any money out of my pocket and I could get a free repair, which is really not free, I would probably go for the free repair which really isnt free, since I'm paying for the coverage anyway.
Sigh!

Re: FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR *ask or details
I don't need this gimmick to be successful. I have more called in jobs and insurance referals than I can keep up with.
I am in great standing with all of the insurance agents in my area and they all tell me that they aren't real fond of the FREE WINDSHIELD GIMMICK.
They would rather have their insured use a preferred network member shop than a Joe sitting on a street corner with a FREE sign.
The insurance companies don't view it as a free service. It is in fact a very costly service to them. When they all pull the plug on it (and they eventually will) like State Farm has, then maybe the FREE GUYS can use their banners as hammocks since they won't have this wonderful "sales technique" going anymore!
Yep, that's funny, I don't care who you are!

How professional is the image portrayed by the FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR gimmick?????
Wow, I know I can feel good about the quality of FREE stuff!
Why not call it what it is. It's payment alternative that is provided by the insurance company. But FREE? Nope, it ain't free and hundreds of guys making 6 digit incomes ARE being paid for their FREE work! lol
Better ride your FREE gimmick for all it's worth now because it's just a matter of time before it no longer exists.

You don't agree with the way some people advertise their service...we know...get over it. This isn't the first thread you have opened trash talking the repair techs that advertise the "Free windshield repair" service.
I don't find anything wrong with their marketing ways. If you are saying that its not really free, then do you get upset anytime a company offers something for FREE? Someone somewhere had to pay for the FREE product or service. What is your problem with it? The customer doesn't pay anything out of pocket for the repair so to them its FREE even if the insurance company does have to pay. Ever gone to an insurance website for a FREE quote on an auto policy or homeowner policy, or does that upset you when they advertise it because its not free because they had to pay someone to program the website or pay the person giving the quote over the phone? I don't understand your problem with the way someone advertises if you are so busy with work that they aren't competing with you. Give it a rest

Re: FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR *ask or details
It's true that I don't like the FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR gimmick advertising.
I think it cheapens the image of the industry. It's something I would not feel right about doing. In some respects, I would be embarrased to advertise that way. That's just me. Different standards I guess.
But for those of you who think it's a good thing and it's what makes you money, then go for it. If it works for you, good for you.
But you need to have some genuine marketing plans in place and be prepared to sell your services in other ways, when insurance companies no longer waive the deductible for repairs. Don't put all your eggs in the FREE basket!
