Barry, I am impressed with the ability to stick to the relevant subject of this thread. Sometimes emotions get the best of forum members and we get off track a bit. Thanks for keeping a level head and sticking to the subject. I hope everyone else will follow your lead and get back to business.

Thanks.

Barry,

Any chance you could share info as to how many DryStars have been sold since their inception?

You can spin this anyway you like, you know your intentions here. It is not your viewpoint, you are entitled to them just as we all are. It is your delievery needs some polishing. It also seems that quite a few threads you decide to post in end up with a negative under tone even if you have a valid point.

There must some truth to this as you been banned in the past.

Suggestion: Post your opinions, experiences and thoughts but do it tactfully. We may be able to learn something from you.

You seem to be a blunt type so I am sure you can handle me being blunt with you. You now have a choice here, you can come back with a typicall antagonizing response and create more negative posting or you can take this as constructive criticism and move foward.
You have laid it out in a very gental way as to the effects of a very negative personality on the quality of information on this forum.I would like to apoligize to The inventor of the Drystar for having been at the end of a lot of very negative nonconstructive critisism.I hope he continues to give us his valuable info and techniques and am also pleased to see the quality of person he is by not being baited into a war of words and has taken the high road by ignoring the problem.Obviously he has a good sense of his self esteem and does not need to lower himself to that level.Bravo!!!!!! Some could learn a valuable life lesson by following his lead.

I try to find a place where I can drill the least depth and it varies from chip to chip. It is more practice then anything else but as a rule of thumb I try to favor the edge that is going in the direction to the pit from the original impact of the stone.

Yes, don't let the negativie personailities and whiners on this board take away from the purpose. Many like to throw stones and make accusations and then claim they were on the victim end of it when the other person responds. Put the bait out and then cry when you don't catch anything! Yes indeed, some could learn from your restraint Barry. Some just can't stand not having the last word.

It's nice to see people like Barry wearing the "big boy pants". I'm guesing that he understands that not everyone will be in agreement with him and he shrugs it off like an adult instead of crying foul like a child.

Anyone on here lived their life without someone disagreeing with them?
I don't think so. Does that mean you're a bad person because someone doesn't agree or has a different viewpoint or perspective? Not at all!

Too much time being spent here complaining about what someone else said!
Too much time being spent here analyzing personalities, boosting egos, and trying to convince others that you are somehow a better person than the guy you don't like.

What's it all stand for? Nothing. What's it all good for? Nothing? What difference does it make? None. Who really cares? No one.

If I knew and (I dont know because I sold the co. in 2001).I am not at liberty to disclose that information anyhow, Im sorry.

I can say this tho.

When I made my first three working prototypes for myself and the techs that had routes that I sold to them, I struggled with the idea to manufacture and patent it for some time.
I just cold not let go of the conviction I felt to give back to what was so freely given to me. Windshield repair was very good to me and I kept thinking about all the techs around the country that encountered the same issues with water that I did.
I thought if it helped x amount of techs make say $100.00 extra per month times 12 months per year, times x amount of years x interest compounded, that extra money could be used for food, medicine, house payment, ect. I did not want to keep this gift that was bestowed upon me to myself.
I wrestled with the fact and accepted that there was the high likelyhood of a very small profit margin, if any, and with the costs of comodities/machining/assembly to manufacture the drystar verses marketing costs and selling price, I was motivated to help. Anyone who understands this knows that there is, in fact, very, very little profit from selling a drystar for $75.00
Glass repair was very good to me and as it turned out, I made my living by using windshield repair as the source, and invested the profits from windshield repair into realestate and a low cost retirement "index".
I still do believe there is a lot of money to be made today in glass repair.
Best Regards

2. My delivery is just that, "my" delivery. God made us all different.
3. Yep. I got banned, mostly the result of crossing the line with an insult towards another. Some of you walk that fine line better than I do. I've vowed to not let anyone taunt me across it again.
3. Calling me "typically antagonizing" is an insult in itself. Don't throw that at me and then respectfully ask me to accept your advice.

Yes, I'm more blunt than some of you and perhaps even less blunt than others. If everyone could live and communicate by a higher standard then the world would be a better place but some set the bar higher than others.
You may pick and choose your words better than I do, you may present yourself in a more dignified manner, you may be more tactful in your approach, but does that give you a right to criticize me? I think the term for that is being self-righteous.

Will I accept it as constructive criticism? Yes, I will. Because even though I think you're a little out of line for expecting me to follow your advice, I know your heart must be in the right place. One word, (Shriner) allows me to give you the benefit of the doubt.

You are right my intentions are square and level. If you are a brother as you elude, you should be able to appreciate good men, becoming better men.

If you are a brother feel free to PM me.

Barry I certainly understand the small amount of profit you had in the drystar, even if it was all profit $75 is a very small amount of money. I apologise if you feel any of my remarks or questions offensive, they were certainly not meant to be. A lot of your repair techniques are very closely matched to mine. This trade has been very good to me in the 20 years I have been in it and I hope also to pass my experience on too many others.

Enjoy your retirement buddy. In fact compared with my previous business windshield repair is like being retired, I could not think of a better way to earn agreat living so easily.
