Bringing In Business

We have a great well trained team, however at the moment weather is fairly cold, and business has been slow. Any pointers on what we can do to improve productivity, and increase our market awareness?:eusa_hand

Tape a business card to a rock, then throw rocks at windshields..





j/k.. Its slow every where, not saying advertising won't help.. But, what I am finding is peeps won't spend the money unless they really have to, for anything.. Vehicle lettering is your best silent sales person.. Seen by thousands a day (in my case) and gets the calls to come in..

Cold call retail always works but
My favorite is to walk a used carlot or fleet location that currently doesnt use a WR guy write down how many you see and give him a killer price to do em all even the cheap bas$%# will generally jump at a killer price when you done start coming back on regular intervals cahnces are you can build a regular customer out of someone who thought WR was too expensive.

Get you one of those big ole two-sided poster boards that you wear like a shirt. Paint the words FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR in neon colors on the sign. Get a big ole bright pink curly afro wig and paint your face like a clown. Pace back and forth on the sidewalk. If you can borrow a monkey from an organ grinder they make a great sidekick and can even do repairs when you get real busy. Get one of those really loud annoying megaphones and bark at the cars as they drive by. Gymnastics can be eye catching as well but be careful not to get smacked by your poster board!

Just kidding!

If all of the above fails to bring in business, then try this:
Relax and don't stress over the slow days. Take advantage of down time to take care of other business related things. And then when the weather calms and you get a better day, work your hiney off! It'll all even out in the end.

I like the business card taped to a rock idea, then thrown at windshields. A very direct approach. Another not quite as direct but maybe more practical idea: Wrap a flyer around a big rock with a rubber band stating your monthly windshield repair special, and gently place on windshield wipers in parking lots. 'Course if while unwrapping the flyer, the rock happens to fly down and make a nice stone chip, they'll have someone to immediately call! It's late, what can I say? Humor takes on weird dimensions this time of night

How can it be late it is only 8 o'clock in the morning. Sales are quiet for some guys over here, mainly due to lack of motivation with the bad weather. However most of the carpark guys are still pulling the work in and for us the fleet is still good. The garages are a waste of time in our area of the UK if you are just doing screen repair, most damge has been attempted before it gets to the forecourt. Maybe it is time to add another skill. Whatever you do in sales the most important is to do something. Be proactive not inacative.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.
