Say what?
Screenman,
Say it isn't so! That's not you bragging on the Glasweld forum, is it? Does not sound like you or how you would approach that topic. Actually, the same type of remarks were on the Glass Central forum.

Re: Say what?
It is called marketing, as most of you know I run a training centre and part of my business is sales. People coming into this trade read forums and you can guess the rest. Am I wrong in doing this? I worked hard over the years for tha accolade I am sure going to make sure it helps my business and those that do business with me. It has already made some of the insurance companies and tool distributors take me more seriously.

Accolades are generally given by your peers. Blowing your own horn can give a different perspective. You are looked up to by many but you've never been one to boast or brag. Not saying that your take on it as marketing is wrong, it's just different than what we've come to expect from you.

Re: Say what?
I take every opportunity I can to market the awareness of my business, I think using this award is the correct way to go. I also believe we should use every tool we have to enlighten more customers. The person who gets it next year should do the same, lets hope it is someone off this forum again.
I would happily listen to how you all think I should have gone about letting other know.

Re: Say what?
Using it to market your business is fine. That's not in question. Creating posts on the forums to say "someone on this forum is an award winner" and then waiting for someone to reply so you can say "ME!" just seems a little boastful.
Why not just start a thread to say, "as an award winner I would like to make the members of this forum aware of my business", or something along those lines.

Not aloud to direct advertising on Glaweld forum so I have to get in under the wire. I take on board what you say. Have a good day.

Be nice. Don't nitpick.
Re: Say what?
Jealous? Not at all. I happen to like screenman and even gave him my vote.
He's a very deserving winner.
