Progression of sales goals.

Today was the last day of an all time record month for me! Thinking back through the years I realized that my goals have progressed over time.
I remember as a newbie my goal was just to do $200 a day in sales. Then it quickly became $300 a day. Now I'm happy staying near $400 per day average. Plus I almost always put in a 6 day work week being open on Saturdays. I've never been one to be satisfied. Always striving to beat yesterday, last week, last month and last year. Setting new goals each time you reach one is how you get ahead. How many of you others have seen your sales goals progress by striving for more?

Completely agree, I worked the same way for many years. However I think it is a good idea to know when to kick back and chill and think about quality of life and not just financial gain. Nowadays it is a 4 day week but I still have targets, due to the weather systems over here they vary slightly winter to summer. I also increase my profits which is what I am concerned about by doing price increases on a regular basis, also by trying to improve my customer base for better quality ones.

With times being tough, I'm not in the position to kick back and chill. Time is money and I still have a family to provide for. Quality of life is important but without $$$ the quality of life suffers. I have increased profits in combination with taking the appropriate price increases and my customer base seems to have turned more upscale. My per invoice amounts have increased dramatically with the average being about $58. That includes all of my fleet rate business. I only do wsr so that's not a bad average considering that the area lowballer is doing $30 repairs. His loss I guess!
