Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
all the sudden my insurance referrals took a serious drop. I know this is normal from time to time but not this drastic. I talked to the guy at harmon and he tells me everything is fine with my info and that I am at the top of the list to get referrals. I actually did get one call yesterday but this is not normal when I know they are busy. Are there any other tricks tech may be using other than setting up bogus locations to get more referal hist?
Re: Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
Jeff,
I'm experiencing the same here. Some of it may be due to the weather were having. When it rains every other day people may not even know they have damage until the water evaporates. Be patient because when Michigan temps get into the 80's things will pick up. I would also like to point out that with our current economy it seems everybody wants to get into repair these days and that may have an effect on rotations. It would be nice to know how large a pool Harmon or Lynx is working with but doubt you'll be able to obtain that info from them.
Time to set up that tent location...LOL

Re: Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
LOL I meant TRICKS? yeah I am working on the tent thing but I don't have the cash till I sell my damn truck. I was told my harmon that I am always in the top 3 for referals. I think what is happening many times is if a customer asks for the closest shop even though me and several others all service the same area they do go by location which really isn't fair. This is what the guy in charge of affiliate services told me. They are supposed to be working on that. You are right though I have a feeling things will pick back up. I think I am gonna go end up out in the country there is a dairy mart that has a big lot and quit a bit of traffic. I talked to a business man in the area and he tells me everone is cool and it shouldn't be a problem so next week I will be talking with them to at least get permission. I also wanna look out for fund raisers and see if I can work something out with the car wash's give them 10 dollars per repair towards there cause. Just weird when you go from 10 a week average to 2 this week LOL. You going to use the FREE windshield repair advertising? I think that is the route I am going. I used to not like that but it should get people stopping.

Jeff,
I am not sure it is wise to be considering or soliciting tricking networks on the forum to generate more referral work. I know how heavily you depend on your referral work and I know for a fact Larry Seaman of HSG and Steve Shaw of Lynx read the forum occasionally. This may jepordize your vendor status. Just some friendly food for thought.
In my past discussions with them they have indicated using "pricing" to increase referral opportunity. Other than that our standing is fine as well. Since insurance work is not our main target market and it is just gravy but nice, the cost of doing business(gas) insane and already agreeing to professionaly service the insureds at much lower rate than our retail, it is not something we will consider. It may be of interest to you though.
I think things are slow across the country so you may just need to get out there and sell yourself. We can't always wait for that ship to dock, you may need to swim out to get on board. Good luck.

I was thinking something along the same lines when I first read the title.
Re: Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
I want to find these people and point them out so it is fair. I am working on a location to set up shop very soon hopefully. I put up some flyers at the local RV park after doing a shield there today. It was really early so most people were still sleeping
Not looking to do a tricks just looking to stop it, and understand how I am the top guy thru harmon I am told but not getting the work.

Re: Lynx and Harmon TICKS?
I noticed my referrals have been dropping since the first of the year, almost to nothing. I spoke to the networks and they said every thing was fine but they have been a little slow. They suggested that I could lower my pricing to be more competitive. I think thats what the large franchises are doing to get the work and they can afford to do that. That puts a crunch on the independent guys, that extra money was nice but it is not worth it for me to lower my prices to get the work and the fuel prices keep going up.
