Getting back into the business

Post by chris arena »

Hello all:

It's been about 4 years since I have been on the forum. I also run an independent auto damage appraisal business and since the gas prices are going out of site, I have seen a reduction in business as of late. It appears that I will have to dust off the old tent, relube my Glas-Weld kit and get back into business.

All I have done lately, is repair friends and family vehicle. I have misplaced all of my billing info. and need to get up to speed in these areas. Otherwise, I am good to go.

1. At one time we had a list of insurance companies phone numbers and charges. Is it still available? and can I get a copy?

2. Do I need the networks? If so, which ones? Can I get phone numbers and contact info?

3. The fee used to be about $50.00 bucks. Any changes?

Thanks,

Chris Arena

Chris, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you a list of insurance companies. Unfortunately, the list doesn't have phones nbrs.

Brent,

Do you still have that list I sent you a few years back archived? If so this might help, it may need a little updating though.

You need to have 10 posts on this forum to send or receive private messages from anyone other than windshield repair forum administrators. When you make your 10th post the change is made automatically.

To send a PM simply click on the member's name whom you wish to contact, and click on "send private message". When they login to the forum they will see that they have a new private message to read.

I dug one up from 2002 that has phone numbers on it, but I think that was before you got in the game so I'll have to keep looking. I also found a rate list from March of this year, but it doesn't have any phone numbers on it.

If I haven't scared Daveycrewcut away maybe he can help with this one. I got a very good rate list from A.C.T. at one point in time, and I'm sure they are always kept up to date, but he may not wish to post a current list of insurance company phone numbers.

I generally tell my customers that it's generally easiest to get current info from their customer's insurance card rather than rely on lists that tend to be outdated very quickly. As for the rates, I guess it is good to know, but they are what they are unless you decide you won't do a job for less than a certain amount.

I'm attaching the rate list, but I don't think I will post the phone number list due to the age of the document. If anyone wants it they can PM me with a request and I will send it out right away. Even new forum members who do not have PM rights yet can still send me messages.
