We still call the ball bearing on a rubber band a bullseye maker, and sometimes you can get very good bullseyes when using one, but the type of glass, the thickness of rubber band, how you hold it, and how far you pull it back are all factors that change the outcome. Also, we used a hardened steel bearing for the ones we sell, but I have seen others that are made from mild steel that flatten every time they are used, making consistent results very difficult to achieve. Frankly we should probably change the name of this device.

The hook tool is as simple as it gets, although it does take a little practice to get just the right swing and angle to achieve a perfect bullseye. Oddly enough we have found that different sizes, shapes and the metal a hook tool is made from provides for very different results. We sell the one we like best for under $10.

What is a hook tool? If there is one sold by Delta, I can seem to find it.

I just checked the Delta Kits website and you are absolutely right, we do not have it listed there. I'll see what I can do about that.

Basically the hook tool is very much like a cotter pin puller used by mechanics, but the type we sell are mainly used in the glass replacement industry. It looks like a screwdriver with a 90 degree bend and a point at the end. I'll see if I can post a photo or have it up on the website tomorrow.

brent, did you read my post about being able to post pictures going through photobucket.com? we may already be able to do that. I would like to be able to see pictures of everyone, if someone is having a problem with something, a picture might help, etc...

rowdy13.....I am sure your local Home Depot carries that tool if you need it in a hurry. Although it may be cheaper going through Delta, I really dont know.

I cant even imagine how you use that thing to make a bullseye. looks like something my grandma used to hook a rug! someone please explain.

Just aim and whack. You'll learn the different angles to hit it at. Make sure you are wearing protective eye wear when you are making practice chips. Easily get glass in your eye if you aren't careful
