Most glass sunroofs over here are made of toughened glass. I have carried out repairs on security glass with up to 10 layers and with no real problems, the out layer with the damage in does normally seem to be thinner than that which we are used to, so be a bit careful with the drill.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.

As screenman said, most sunroofs are made from tempered glass. Chips can be easily repaired with pit resin or plate glass resin. It's the same basic process as capping a large pit, although if the chip is in the edge of the glass you may need to shape the edge of the cured resin a bit.jayjacque;31415 wrote:That's good to know Brent. Reminds me, I had a dealer about a week ago ask me about a sunroof chip repair. I assume that is repairable. That's what I told him anyway. Was I right?

There are a few laminated sunroofs out there, check the logo on the glass, it should say if it's safety or laminate. If it's lami, fix it just like a windshield.
