Introduce myself

Post by rowdy13 »

Sorry I didnt do this sooner, but my name is Stan aka Rowdy 13. I live in Edmond, Oklahoma. From 1979 to 1987, I was a police officer for the city of Edmond, and while working there, got my college degree, and was hired federally and have worked for the bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives as a special agent since 1987. I've been with ATF for 21 years, and I'm elligible to retire whenever. I'm 52 years old, and I'm trying to learn a skill other than law enforcement. Like anything you do for along time, you get tired of it, and I definitely DO NOT want to retire, and go to work at a job thats 8 to 5, nor do I want a boss. It's a pleasure to meet everyone, and I am learning "GOBS" from you guys.

rowdy13,
Nice to know you. My youngest brother is a City Police Officer in Spokane Washington. My middle brother is trying to do a career move from a mechanic to City Police for Spokane like my little brother. I was very interested in the Washington State Patrol many years ago, and tried to get hired on but there were 300 other's going for the same job. I didn't want it bad enough to take on 300 other people who had already been through some of the hiring phases. I decided that I must not have wanted it bad enough because I decided that I wanted to be home everynight and work "regular" hours so I can come home and be the best dad I can be to my young daughter as she was growing up. I really enjoyed being a dad so it was important for me to be home everynight with my daughter and my wife.

I have great respect for all who serve as police officers, especially my little brother. He knew at the age of 12 that he wanted to be a police officer. And with no one in our family ever being in that field, he really had no "pointers" or help. But I'm proud as heck of him because he grew up and went after what he wanted most out of life and has been serving on the Spokane Police Department for some 7 or 8 years now.

Rowdy, Having a Police officer and ATF background should serve you well in this industy, knowing how to weigh people up, and not being afraid to ask the questions, Good Luck to you.

thank you all for the nice things you said. Sneck, I know how your brother feels. I wanted to be in Law Enforcement since a child, and its a great feeling to be one. I wish him the best and hope he is very careful. Chips, thank you for what you said, and I suppose if a customer gives me a hard time, I can put the famous "sleeper hold" on them! just kidding.

Nice BIO and Welcome aboard. Lots of great people here. It would have been easier to edit your personel Profile though and it will always be visible. I could possibly do some training if you willing to travel a ways....

I will travel anywhere. Thinking about flying to England and let Screenman train me, and introduce me to the Queen.
