I find when the things you have always done with success all of the sudden start coming out different its time to break down and clean everthing check your resin and pit filller and when this is done do everthing by the numbers like you havnt done it a million times
"When you walk the same path everyday you tend to start taking short cuts and not paty attention explaining why you never stepped in dog stuff there before" (that wasnt mine somthing an old sales manager told me to get me to quit cutting corners and pay attention)

Re: "air Reappearing" After Mylar In Place ?
It sounds like you are an experienced windshield repair technician, so please forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but even us old timers sometimes overlook some of the most basic procedures.
If the glass is overheated in the repair area it will expand and close part or all of the break, making it appear to be properly filled, but as the glass cools it contracts and the break can open back up exposing trapped air. The change can take place during the curing process, or after the repair is completed depending on how long it takes for the glass to cool and how strong the resin bond is.
The same thing can happen if you are putting too much pressure against the glass, or if you cure under pressure. If you put too much pressure against the glass it can partially close the break making it appear filled, but when the bridge is removed trapped air is exposed. If you cure under pressure, or are too quick to apply your curing tab you may not notice the problem until after the curing process is complete.
Have you made any changes in equipment, techniques, resins, or curing tabs? One of my trainers, Wade, recently tested a competitor's windshield repair resin and had a similar problem with several repairs. In our case we know it has to have something to do with the resin because we cannot recreate the problem with Delta Kits resin, but we still cannot figure out exactly why it is happening.
I have heard all the arguments about outgassing, etc., but I do not believe that to be the case with Delta Kits resins. I hope to get a little time to test the product that Wade had problems with to see if that provides any answers.
Let us know if you figure it out.

I was starting to think i lost my touch ! it was the resin - i bought a kit off a local tech. After playing in my bay on a windshield the air would show back up after the mylar was in place, then i switched to my prem. bond and no issues ?
very weird over the years ive used everyones resin and never had this problem ! maybe water in the resin ? im just glad its not me ! thanks for the input Brent - Jamie@FNC
